September, October, November in Bali

September 10, 2013

September, October, and November is a wonderful time to visit our Bali luxury villa – there are so many things to do in Bali during this time!

For instance, why not try a 7-day Detox at the Yoga Barn? This professionally guided 7-day cleansing fast is a great way to heal and recharge your body. For a full schedule of events coming up at the Yoga Barn, visit the events page on their website.

If you are looking for a treat for your head instead of your body, consider staying at our Bali villa for the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, which is happening October 11-15. This Festival welcomes more than 170 brilliant writers, performers, artists, musicians and visionaries to the magical setting of Ubud, to speak across all forms of storytelling – from travel writing to songwriting, plays, poetry, comedy and graphic novels. The festival also features a world-class line-up of Indonesia’s finest and most successful writers and thinkers.

And, October 23rd is the Balinese Holiday of Galungan, the most important of the recurring religious ceremonies. Galungan celebrates the victory of good over evil. The spirits of deceased relatives who have died and been cremated return to visit their former homes, and the current inhabitants have a responsibility to be hospitable through prayers and offerings. You will see penjor – bamboo poles weighed down by offerings– throughout the streets of Ubud.

If you are looking for things to do in Bali during Galungan, consider a visit to Tirta Empul, a sacred Hindu temple near our Bali luxury villa where many Balinese go to heal and purify themselves in the sacred water during Galungan.
